In the United States, purposeful paternity fraud rarely results in compensation to the defrauded man. It is different in “baby mix-up cases,” where damages are routinely granted. This article shows a damage award to a couple simply because the IVF clinic, which had three healthy embryos from the couple, implanted the wrong one in the wife. No fraud, no genetic mismatch, but damages were awarded. When will victims of purposeful paternity fraud see relief?
